Free Comic Book Day 2009

Well, it's that time of year again, where our girls dress up, get free stuff, and get their picture taken a lot.

Yes, this weekend was Free Comic Book day, and once again the fine folks at 4 Color Fantasies in Rancho Cucamonga showed us a good time. Not only was Wolverine there with a giant sentinel to take pictures, but tons of other superheroes and Star Wars characters were on hand.

This year, the girls met a few creators as well, including Amy Wolfram, who writes some of their favorite cartoons and who wrote the new Barbie movie, Barbie and the Three Musketeers, and the very talented Todd Nauck who draws, among other things, the very characters the girls were dressed as.

Of course, no Free Comic Book Day would be complete without a visit with Kirk Kushin, who saved Emma from the collapsing bounce house two years ago--he's a genuinely nice guy, and this year he gave Emma a signed copy of his new graphic novel, Super Teen*Topia. Emma couldn't have been more excited, and won't let anybody else read it until she finishes it.

Afterwards, we went down and met Andy and Nikki at Hogi Yogi and spent the rest of the day with them. It couldn't have been more fun.

Okay, for those of you who don't know it, our sister-in-law Michelle is like the best photographer ever. She can even make me look cute! ;)

Seriously, she does a really good job. The feet picture above is hers as well many other photos sprinkled throughout our blogs and anywhere else you find us online. Check out the album "Marci's Girls" on Marci's facebook page. Michelle took all of them!!!

I even had her tackle this humongous task for me of taking pictures of all the Peterson kids and their families so I could scrapbook the pictures for Mom and Dad's Christmas present. The pictures turned out great and the scrapbook was pretty good too, if I do say so myself. I will have to get some pics of it and post them so you can see my genius!

Back on topic. . .focus! No pun intended but it works! My thoughts are allover the place today.

Anywho, Michelle is one of the best. If you live here in the Inland Empire or will be visiting make sure to give her a call to set up your photo shoot! She's so good and really reasonably priced. You will get a killer deal!!!!

Okay so Ryan, another awesomely talented family member, designed the logo for Michelle but I put it all together in the button.

Okay, so I got tagged from Kristin! So, I went to the fourth file to the fourth picture and here it is. . . .It's my dinner from a secret shop that I performed at the beginning of the year. I don't remember which restaurant it was, I wouldn't be able to tell even if I did!



Yes, I am a secret shopper. I am signed up with a few different companies. Some pay better than others, some want more info, and some we get free stuff from. It's kind of fun and it gives us a little pocket change. If anyone is interested in becoming a mystery shopper, let me know as I can hook you up. Just make sure that you never, I mean never, pay to become a mystery shopper!
